On March 5, 2023, Ellis was found shot to death inside a car outside of the Sweet Sweet Kitchen in the 900 block of Bonifant Street, prompting an extensive investigation that has now landed four suspects behind bars.

Police say that on Monday, Feb. 5, investigators arrested D'Angelo Holley, who has no known address, and has been at large since a warrant was issued for his arrest in October last year.

Holley was arrested without incident and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he was served with the arrest warrant charging him with first-degree murder.

Three others - Kajohn McCombs, Ahmahd McCombs, and D'Andre Lukes, have all also been arrested for their alleged roles in the shooting death of Ellis. All are being held without bond while Holley awaits his court appearance.
